Kisa's love for dogs and showing started at the young age of 9. Under the kennel name Destiny, her family raised and showed a number of breeds including English Cocker Spaniels, Long Haired Dachshunds, and English and Irish Setters. When Kisa married Greg she brought with her a beautiful Belgian Tervern. After starting our family (Jared now 17 and Karry now 14), Kisa wanted more kids. After some discussion, we decided to get a bird to see if that with quench the maternal need. That was a complete failure! Our next idea was to get a dog and have puppies, which of course meant getting a show dog! And thus our dog show venture began.....
We decided to get a Border Collie, which began with a 6 month search throughout the US for just the right girl. Fortunately Debbie Butt of Sportingfields was willing to take a chance with us and entrusted us with Tessa (Ch. Sportingfields Tessa of Borderfame). Tessa far exceeded our dreams as our first show Border Collie. With Kisa owner handling, she went on to become the number 2 female in the nation in 2008, was awarded Best of Opposite Sex (top female) at the Eukanuba American Kennel Club National Championship in 2009, and received many group placements and award of merits, including two at the National Championships. Tessa has had two litters which have produced many champions. She is now continuing her career in Scotland. Truly Debbie Butt deserves all the credit for our wonderful Tessa and the many other beautiful dogs she has honored us with over the years.
